Newborn Intensive Care Unit
Progress West Hospital's Newborn Intensive Care Unit is staffed by Washington University neonatologists and pediatric hospitalists. The team also includes neonatal nurses with advanced training to take care of babies born prematurely.
The Newborn Intensive Care Unit:
- features 8 newborn ICU beds
- enables the hospital to provide care for premature babies born at a gestational age beginning at 31 weeks
- keeps mothers and babies together
- features a unique layout that promotes family-centered care
